in the Chinese City

Concrete Flux and Modes Vu are two publishers working in and around China that explore new ways of living in cities and the unconventional methods of reorganization that are rapidly transforming the landscape.
Concrete Flux is a journal that investigates how new configurations of space might re-shape Chinese society and our understanding of urban forms more generally, and Modes Vu considers rhythms and patterns of daily life through the intimate lens of photography. Their latest release, 展銷場 Display Distribute, looks at how products and communication technologies impact the lives of urbanites.
Join us for the Canadian launch of the third issue of Concrete Flux and a new Modes Vu workbook, along with a multi-media presentation on the post-industrial Chinese city. Chris Blackmore is a writer and artist based in Beijing and Montreal who will represent Concrete Flux. Ming Lin is a writer and researcher, and the author of 展銷場 Display Distribute.
